James Smith

Upcoming Live Webinar, sponsored by the Cloud Voice Alliance

Date and Time: Thursday, December 15, 2022, 2 pm EST

I want to introduce and invite you to attend the next episode of the CEO Success Stories to take place in a live webinar format sponsored by the Cloud Voice Alliance. In this webinar, I will chat with James Smith, who heads up a successful telecom service provider in West Hartford, CT.

James worked for years as a cell phone technician early in his career, adding network operations and directing and overseeing the construction of cell towers, equipment, and network implementation for Verizon Wireless. These experiences provided a solid telecom foundation for James to solve complex communications problems to help businesses transform, optimize, grow and succeed.

Universal Connectivity believes every business deserves to be better connected. This fuels our mission to enhance their client’s growth and competitiveness with forward-thinking scalable communications systems. Growing up in an entrepreneurial household and one of nine children, he attributes his entrepreneurial spirit and drive to his mother, who started a placement agency in 1966 called Exclusively Women, catering to helping women with job placement.

Before acquiring Universal Connectivity, James was with Verizon Wireless, where he led the Network Implementation and Construction of the first three generations of wireless networks both in the Northeast region and later at headquarters overseeing hundreds of millions in the annual capital expansion of the network. After a decade-long career at Verizon Wireless, James stepped out of his role to start a Telecommunications Consulting practice serving wireless carriers and large enterprises.

James has always been involved with the community and, over the years, has been a board member serving on the Connecticut Chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, and is currently on the board at Northwest Catholic High School as well as a member of the CCSU School of Business Advisory Board. His passion for helping entrepreneurialism also led him 2012 to participate in the inaugural Startup weekend event with the Hartford Metro Alliance. This three-day, 54-hour educational event promoted individuals/groups to develop and pitch a lean startup idea.

Outside of leading the Universal Connectivity team, James enjoys traveling, skiing, playing golf and squash, as well as spending time with his family.

Join me as I interview James, and he shares his insight for aspiring and new CEOs looking for ways to gain a competitive edge in today’s complex marketplace. Learning from other successful leaders has become a moniker for the Cloud Voice Alliance-sponsored “CEO Success Stories with Bill Miller” webinars.

The goals of The CEO Success Story Series

This live series is intended to help CEOs and leaders be the best they can be by listening and learning from other successful CEOs and leaders.

Each CEO’s journey is unique, as is every individual’s journey to becoming CEO while building and running their companies. Some people have a lifelong dream of being an elite athlete, while others dream of being a successful CEO.

We all learn from each other as we prepare and move through our lives from our early years through school, sports or hobbies, family, and various activities. These all shape our future, our beliefs, our philosophies, our styles, and finally, our choices.

Please share this on social media if you found this post helpful and informative! Keep your eyes open for that next post. A new “Matters Series” post is coming soon.
