Generative AI Expo, at ITEXPO, CEO Insights: The Good, Bad, and Ugly of Using Generative AI for Business
I am the creator and moderator for this panel for the 4th consecutive ITEXPO and have assembled three distinguished successful CEOs to discuss and debate the use of Generative AI for business. The CEOs are:

As 2023 was the year Generative AI hit mainstream due to ChatGPT and the incredible progress of other LLMs, or Large Language Models, 2024 will likely be a year of high adoption of these tools and new emerging applications to simplify everything from mundane tasks to brainstorming complex topics at a rapid pace. New virtual assistance and copilot applications are emerging daily.
Gen AI is having a huge impact on marketing and content creation. The content types include everything from documentation to images to video. According to Gartner’s 2023 Marketing Future Strategic Priorities Poll report, content creation is the top use of Gen AI at 56%, followed by asset development at 44%, search at 17%, research at 10%, automation at 8% and optimization/analytics/copyrighting at lower %’s. In smaller companies and startups that are my clients, copyrighting and automation are higher than in Gartner’s poll.
There are warnings, however, from many AI experts, and we are seeing potential government regulations in the future. Gen AI is new, relatively untamed, and in many ways unknown. The CEO Insights panel will discuss the tradeoffs CEOs are considering in their companies on when to use Gen AI and when not to use it. No one is arguing the power of Gen AI, but there are debates around Gen AI using existing Internet information in its trained models without proper attribution.
For what it’s worth, this blog post is 100% written by me, with zero Gen AI input! One thing I could do is run this post through Gen AI for copyediting, suggestions for clarity, or summarization, but you can do that yourself if you care to!
